When I try to update my nano, it says "Songs on the i Pod cannot be updated because all of the playlists selected for updating no longer exist." I have no idea whatsoever it is referring to. When i Tunes was projecting the playlist message, I kind of freaked out and deleted my entire library and imported about 200 of my songs again.

I have a 2 GB model, so I had used approximately half of the memory.
